We have had a Red Box in our family for the last 60 years. It is a way of reminding ourselves that we are part of one big family and that we should share what we have with others. The gift of faith is the biggest gift we can share.

Leaving a gift of faith in my Will
Legacies form a significant part of all gifts made to the APF whose work, as you know, depends entirely on your generosity. Legacies enable us to take on long-term projects which dramatically change lives, such as the building of orphanages or new places of worship for isolated communities; they also help us provide spiritual and practical support to families torn apart by war and conflict. Without this special help the work would not get done. For further details on APF projects click here
Why leave a gift in my Will?
Making a Will is sensible and practical, and brings you peace of mind. Everyone should do it. Many people use their Wills to leave something to their favourite charity or charities. Your Will enables you to leave a planned gift to the APF whilst still ensuring that your dependents and the people you care for will be looked after. Any amount of money, however small, will help your favourite cause. Even £100 can make a real difference and the good you have done on earth will live on. Charitable legacies are paid before tax is deducted, which means you will also reduce the amount of inheritance tax due from your estate.
What kind of gift can I leave?
You can leave a pecuniary bequest: a gift of a specific amount of money, or a residuary bequest: once your family and loved ones have been provided for, the remainder of your estate (or a specified proportion of it) will be left for the essential mission of offering Christ’s love to all.
Daily Mass
Mass is offered every day at Lisieux for all living and deceased members and benefactors of the APF. Lisieux was chosen for this as it was where St Teresa of the child Jesus, patroness of the missions, lived and died. Mill Hill priests each offer Mass for deceased members in November and they are remembered at Mass every Sunday and in the daily Office.
Should you wish to remember the APF in your Will here is an example of a form of bequest:
‘I bequeath to the Pontifical Mission Societies (Registered Charity No. 1056651) for the benefit of the Association for the Propagation of the Faith Fund, the sum of £ .............. and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or National Director (for the time being) shall be a good discharge to my Executors.’
For more information on making a Will, please write to us at the address shown below and we will send you our Legacy Leaflet. Your information will not be given to any other organisation and if you are not already on our mailing list we will not write to you again unless you wish us to.
